BOATING FATALITY
YOUNG MAN DROWNED AT WORSER BAY.
About noon, yesterday the capsizing of a ten-foot centre-board boat at Worser Bay resulted .in the drowning of a young .. man - named .Joseph ■ Dilger, -tepson of Mr. Tohill, Marine parade, Worser Bay. . - Shortly.before the accident happened, Laurie Dale (16), John- M'Le*n (16), and Joseph-Dilger put off in the boat for a sail. A light southerly was blowing, but when several hundred, yards from the wharf the. small craft was struck by a strong squall, as she was tnrning, and capsized. Knowing that Dilger could not swim, Laurie Dale attempted to save him, with the, result that both youths sank. On coming to the surface, Dale saw no more of Dilger. ' ' The accident was seen from the shore, and a boat was put off, and Dale and ll'Lean were rescued. Although in an exhausted state/ they soon recovered. Dragging operations, under the direction of Constable Henry, of Seatoun, were continued throughout yesterday and to-day,, but up to the present the body has not been recovered.
