FIRE IN DYE WORKS

(By Telegraph.—Press Assciiation.) CHRISTCHURCH, 2nd April.

A fire occurred in the factory of Taylor's dye works at 5,40 p.m. on Thursday. The, ■ drying-room floor was destroyed and ironwork was warped, but little structural damage was done to the brick building. All the Easter orders for dyeing and cleaning had been completed, and the clothing had been removed to another portion of the works. The firo had a good hold, but the brigade quickly extinguished it. The buildings wore insured in the Yorkshire office, but the amount is not available.
