INQUEST ON VICTIMS

BYLAWS NEED ENFORCEMENT.

ELTHAM, This Day,

That the four victims of the recent fire at the Dominion Boarding-house met their death by suffocation and burning was the verdict returned by the jury when the inquiry into the fire concluded at 10 o'clock last night. A rider was added to the verdict: "That this jury strongly recommends the strict enforcement of the borough bylaws dealing with the licensing and regulation of boarding-houses, particularly the bylaws regarding the provision of efficient fire escapes."
