LINCOLNSHIRE HANDICAP

A "DUD" BOMBSHELL.

(United Press Association.—Copyright.) (Australian-New Zealand Cable Assn.) . . LONDON, 28th March. The "Daily Express" says that a racing sensation was threatened at the week-end m connection with King of Clubs' win in the Lincolnshire Handicap. Dawson, the trainer of Zionist, which was second, posted an objection to the winner on the ground that a partnership in the horse between Messrs. Belleby and S. Owden had not beet disclosed. As settling day was Monday the objection was a bombshell, affecting bets all the world over totalling £2,000,000. Many bookmakers who had already 'paid out on King of Clubs would be obliged also to pay over on Zionist, while a popular double on Zionist and Jack Burner, winner, of the Grand National,, would become operative. Fortunately, late on Sunday Dawson cancelled his objection.
