NOT PROMISING FOR WEEK-END,

Generally, the weather conditions during the past 24 hours have been fair, although rain fell'this morning in the northern half of the North Island. Moderate and variable breezes have prevailed, and there has been little change in the atmospheric pressure since yesterday. To-day a fall in barometric pressure is anticipated, and unsettled, cloudy, and misty weather, with general rain, heavy in parts, is anticipated. Northerly winds, increasing to a gale, are likely northward of Now Plymouth and Napier, and strong and variable winds, with northerlies prevailing, elsewhere. A change to tho south may be expected after about 24 hours.
