MELROSE AFFAIRS

The secretary of the Melrose Ratepayers' and Electors' Association (Mr. H. E. Brooker), in his report to the annual meeting of members, congratulated the association on the rapid advancement of the suburb during the past year, especially in the inauguration of a bus service to the district, and on the increased membership of the association The treasurer (Mr. P. Zantuck) reported that the finances of both the association and the hall funds were in a very satisfactory position. The principal officers elected for the ensuing year were:—President, Mrs. Furby; secretary, Mr. A. Hosie; treasurer, Mr. E. Zantuck. A resolution was carried thanking the outgoing officers and committees for their services during the past year.
