PAREMATA BOATING CLUB
Another series of races in connection with the Paremata Boating Club was held during the week-end, and the races were watched by a numerous crowd of spectators. Ten boats crossed the line, including Peggy, the boat which represented Wellington in the Sanders Cup races at Dunedin recently; The handicaps were:— Peggy and Cooee, scr; Boomerang, Bmm; Karehantv 16min; Tuahine, 20mm; Mnmehaha, 20min; Kotuku, 22min; Desert Crold, 24min: Arahiwi, 30min; Happy Thoughts, 30min. Interest in the race was keen as the scratch boats drew close, but the Tuahine maintained her lead and crossed the line first. Peggy, finishing Imm afterwards, was second, and Kotuku third. I lie trophy (a rosebowl) was handed to the skipper of the Tuahine by the chairman of the club (Mr. Smith). Three motorboats started in a race: —Titania, scr; Moki, lOmin; Robert E. Lee, 16min; and a good race saw the Robert E. Lee home first, with the Titania second and the Moki third. ' ■
