SUPERANNUATION BOARD

The quarterly meeting of the Pubfic Service Superannuation Board was held on Thursday last, Mr. J. W. Macdonald presiding. Twenty-three contributors, retired under section 35 of the Act by Teason of age or length of service, wen granted allowances totalling £6157 per imiuim, and five contributors, retired ag medically unfit, were granted allowances totalling £325 per annum. In two cases consideration was deferred pending farther medical report*. Twelve widows and nine children were granted statutory allowances amounting to £606 per annum. In consequence of retirements under section 35 of Hie Act, aceraed compensation to the amoxmt of £2839 became & liability of the Superannuation Fond, and a corresponding relief to the Consolidated Fund.
