SALVATION ARMY
COLONEL BEAT'S SUCCESSOR

The Salyation Army has announced the appointment of Lieut.-Colonel Simpson, secretary for the SoutTT Australian territory, as men's social secretary for New Zealand, the position held till recently by Colonel Bray, who has retired from active service and retained to Australia.
An alteration of the divisional districts, which increases the status . of the Central North Division, with headquarters at Palmerston ' North, has also been announced. Central North comprised the districts of Poverty Bay, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, and Wairarnpa, but by the new arrangement Wairarapa and the corps at Levin and Foxton will be included in the Wellington Division, and what has been known as the Taranaki and King Country Division, comprising Taumarnnui, Baetihi, Taihape, Marton, and Taranaki, will be absorbed by tho Central North Command, making tho total strength of this division twenty-four corps. .■.
