UNION WANTS THEIR WAGES.
CUT DOWN.
(Received 12th February, noon.)
SYDNEY, This Day.
Although the 1917 loyalists in the railway and tramway services have been "regressed" by the Government, they still retain" the salaries of the higher positions in which they were formerly employed. A deputation representing the Tramway Employees' Union, whose members participated in the 1917 strike, waited on Mr. Lang and demanded that the wages of the "regressed" loyalists be reduced.
The deputation also complained that the Railway Commissioners were adopting the attitude that they were not bound to reinstate.men who had not yet been re-employed in the service. The Premier gave a sympathetic reply and promised to go into the grievances with the officials of the union. at an early date.
