WAR SLOOP CASSIOPEE

The French war sloop Cassiopee, now at Wellington, will probably sail about midday on Saturday for Auckland, where she will make a short stay prior to proceeding to Noumea, her headquarters in the Pacific. This morning Captain Deeoux returned the visits made to the ship by the various Consular agents in Wellington. Captain Deeoux also paid a visit to the Hon. If. J. Eolleston (Minister of Defence) at, noon to-day. To-night the captain and officers are being entertained at the French Club. . ■

Captain Ducoux called this morning at the German. Consulate to return the visit which the German Consul, Mr. ,Penseler, paid on board the Cassiopee.
