MARRIAGE OF MINORS
REFUSED UNDER NEW ACT,
(United Press Association—Copyright.) (Sydney Sun Cable.) LONDON, 10th February. The first decision under,the new Infants Act was <given by a Magistrate at Surbiton, who upheld a mother's refusal to consent to her nineteen-year-old daughter's marriage. The mother said it would mean poverty. The Magistrate agreed and said a nineteen-year-old suitor's earnings of 40a per week were insufficient.
