At the resumed inquest at Trowbridge on Edward Charles Richards, for \ whose murdft John Lincoln was sentenced to death, the jury returned a verdict of murder' by persons unidentified. The foreman said that he wished to add a rider: "We are of opinion that there lias been a grave miscarriage of justice." The Coroner refused to' accept the rider, saying, "You have no business to express such an opinion alter the case has been tried by a higher Court."
