i'-With,.four wickets down for 60 runs,, Hutt, at the Basin Reserve, continued their fin;t innings, against Wellington, ■whoso first innings > score had totalled .344. Watson: ■■»• ent on to make 29, but' Matthews was unable to add id his score. Beard, and Neaz'or were the' best of the others with 23 runs each, and the innings closed for 140.. Welling ton's second innings did not produce any, outstanding batting performance, the'bowling of Beard and Aldersley being too deadly for: the batsmen. -'Craig's. 40 was best score in an'- innings which brought 121. Requiring 126 ruiis to win, Hutt did not start off. tod well, and' the first few wickets fell very cheaply. Watson played a steady 30, but Hutt were still a long way from, their desired total until the Beard-Nunn partnership began to pile up the score, with time fast approaching.
