SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
The reception given to Mrs. .Pollock and her helpers at her concert for seafarers on Thursday at the Sailors Inend Society proved she had catered rightly for the popular taste. The performers were Mesdames Pollock and Milward, the Misses Hill, Arrowsmith, Exton, and Messrs. Buiri<Jge, Brown, Smith, and Williams. Mrs. Pollock and Miss Hill ■were at the piano. The continued success of the competitions is largely due to the fact .that all take some part in them. Prizes came from the Misses Gilpin.and Reid and went to Ruahine, Cambridge, Matatua, and Maimoa.
