ARRIVALS. January 23—Ruahine, s.s. (11 a.m.), 10,720 tons, Smith, from London and Southampton, via Panama. DEPARTURES. January 23—Tamahine, s.s. (1.15 p.m.), 1850 tons,- Prosser, for. Picton. RUAHINE FROM HOME. After a passage of 35 days from Southampton, via Panama, the New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Ruahine arrived in tho stream at 11 a.m. to-day, and was berthed at 1 p.m., at King's Wharf. Cargo was loaded at London, and tho Ituahluo sailed from there at 11 a.m. on 17th December for Southampton, whero passengers were embarked, and malls taken aboard. The vessel sailed from Southampton at noon on the following day. The run across the Atlantic was accompanied by good Avcathcr as was the trip from Panama, until tho vessel met bad weather yesterday. The usual fancy dress balls, dances, and deck sports were held, and tlio passengers spent an enjoyable time. Two deaths occurred after leaving Panama. Tho Ruahiuo averaged a little over 11 knots. MIDDLESEX AT LYTTELTON. The Federal Company advises that the Middlesex arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning from Wanganui. The vessel proceeds to Auckland on Monday, thence to Napier and Wanganui, and then comes to Wellington, where she completes loading. The vessel sails from Wellington on 10th Fetruarv for Boston. New York, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Avonmouth, and London. THE ViAIWERA. The Shaw, Savill Company steamer Walwera, which is due at Dunedin. to-day from London, discharges at Dunedin and Lyttelton. discharges and loads, at Bluff, and afterwards loads at Port Chalmers, Oamaru, Wellingtn (16th to 21st February,) Lyttelton, Opua, and Auckland. The vessel is scheduled to clear Auckland on sth March for London, via New York and Boston. THE KUMARA. The Shaw, Savill Company advises that the Kumara, now loading at Wanganui. leaves there on Friday next for loading at Lyttelton, Wellington (3rd-4th February), Napier, Opua, and Auckland The vessel sails from the last-mentioned port on 13th February for London, via Panama. With Liverpool cargo the Shawi Savill. Company announces the following projected departures from Liverpool for New Zealand ports:— The Matakana sails on 18th February with general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The vessel Is due at Auckland on Jlst March. The Mahana sails on 10th April with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyt--telton, and Timaru. The vessel, which Is due at Auckland on 18th May,' Is bringing emigrants. '. The Waimana sails on 4th February for Auckland where she is due on 14th March. She is aiso; bringing emigrants. The Shaw Savill steamer Raranga sails from London on I.lth February for" Australian ports. .'•'■'■ The Hertford is expected to leave "Napier on Wednesday for Auckland.
