MERCENTILE LEAGUE DEFEATED

In a match played at Kelbnrn Park yesterday, a team representing the Wellington League gained an easy victory over the Mercantile League representatives. Mercantile League batted first, and were dismissed for 162 (Gibson 65, Cording 37, Aamodt 26, Evans 13). Bowling for Wellington, Miller took four wickets for 47 runs, Erskine three for 18, and Moss one for 14. In their reply, the Wellington team rattled on 389 runs for the loss of six wickets, the main contributors being Erskine (86), Cook (65), Buck (54), Miller (52 not out), Beyling (34), Moss (31), and Morgan (19).
