DUTY WANTED ON IMPORTED GRAIN.

(It TILiaJUPB.—PRBiS ASSOCIATION.) ABHBUBTON, 15th January. A meeting of wheat growers, numbering 27, convened by the Ashburton branch of the Farmers' Union, resolved: "That, seeing that the Government has decided not to take control after this season, this meeting is not in favour of control this season, but asks the Government to put an adequate duty on imported wheat and flour." The motion was carried without dissent, six abstaining from voting. ' .
