MOTORISTS AT ISLAND BAY

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I ask a small space in your paper to complain o£ tho speed of motor vehicles in Denvent street, Island Bay. On the evening of 12th January I was in tho street when a moter-lerry passed. I cim honestly state the speed to be 60 miles per hour. The time was between 7.30 and 7.40 p.m. when it is quite light; but the speed was too great to take the number. All 1 could see was "N.Z." on the side of tho lorry. People ran out, thinking it was the lire engine. Between 7 and 8 p.m. there arc children playing about, and it is a wonder there are not more accidents.—l am, etc., A MOTORIST.
