MONARCHIST PLOT

DISCOVERED IN HUNGARY

TO RESTORE EX-CROWN PRINCE

POLITICAL LEADERS INVOLVED.

(UNITED PRSSS ASSOCIATION—OOPIWOHT.) (AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABII ASSOCIATION.) BUDAPEST, 4th January.

The arrest of Wiudischgraetz, who was formerly Boyal Chamberlain and Chief of the Secretariat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a relative of the old Imperial House of Hapsburg, and the recognised leader of the socalled legitimists, unloosed revelations of a most remarkable plot which is developing hourly. It is rumourad that the arrest of the former Premier Count Teleki, is likely to follow, while the position of tho Bcgent, Admiral Horthy, is shaken, and the present Premier, Count Bethlen, is preparing his own retreat. Moreover, Dr. Nadossy, Chief of Police, and the close friend of Admiral Horthy, was suspended yesterday, and a disciplinary inquiry has been ordered into his alleged neglect of duty. Windischgraetz 's secretary, named Baba, had been previously arrested, while there have also been arrests in Serbia and Holland on charges of uttering forged- French notes. Three of those arrested in Holland belong to well-known Hungarian families. It is admitted that their activities have a political side. They are engaged in endeavouring to accumulate funds for a movement for the restoration of the ex-Crown Prince Otto by exchanging false money for good. It is understood the disclosure of the plot would not have been achieved without a keen struggle within administrative circles. It is affirmed that the police secured c/vidence that the false notos had been printed at the Hungarian Army's map-printing works, the head of which, Count Lanzkovitch, is missing.
