RUAPEU ARRIVES FROM HOME.
After a record passage of 37 days from Loniiou aud Southampton, via Panama, the New Zealaud Shipping Company's liner Ruapehii arrived iv the stream at 4.15 p.m. yesterday, aud was berthed about 6 p.m. at King's Wharf, No. 2 north. Cargo was loaded at London, and the Ruapeuu sailed from there at i a.m. ou the 19th November, and arrived at Southampton at 7.30 p.m. ou the same date. Passeugers were embarked and mails takeu aboard, and the vessel sailed again at 2.15 p.m. on the 20th November. Fine weather was experienced on the run to Colon, which was reached at 2.30 a.m. on the sth December. At Balboa the passengers spent several hours ashore, and the Ruapehu resumed her voyage at 9.55 p.m. on the sth December. The weather continued line in the Pacific, and the vessel arrived off Pitcairn Island at 1.30 a.m. on the 17th December. Three boatloads of Islanders came off to the ship, and exchanged and bartered fruit and curios. The Euapehu stood on her course again, and except for two days, tjie weather, was ideal until arrival. The usual fancy dress balls, dances and deck sports were held, and the passengers spent a most enjoyable time. The Euapehu, which is on her 54th voyage, averaged 13 knots.

The Ruapehu is to unload part cargo at Wellington, and is expected to leave here next Saturday for Port Chalmers to discharge the remainder.
