Mr. J. M'Crory, late of Wellington, has arrived from Duncdin for a short visit. According to a Press Association cable message from New Tork, the late Mr. Frank Munsey, the American publisher, left 20,000,000 dollars to his nearest relatives, an aged sister, and four second cousins. Major-General Sir Ivor Phillips, who has arrived at Sydney en route to New Zealand, was formerly senior Liberal member of the House of Com-, mons for Southampton, states a Press Association cable message this afternoon. Major James O'Sullivan, who was for many years Director of Stores at Buckle Street Barracks, but who in recent years has been farming at Huntly, died there on Thursday. A native of Ireland, the late Major O'Sullivan arrived in New Zealand.in the early days and joined the Arniel Constabulary, which later provided tho basis for the Permanent Force. The contingents which left Now Zealand for the South African War were equipped by Major O'Sullivan, who was also concerned with the fitting out« of reinforcement drafts during tho Great War. On retiring from th-3 Government service a few years ago Major O'Sullivan settled on a farm near Huntly, and resided there until his death. The late Major O'Sullivan is survived by a widow and two sons and two daughters. The sons are Messrs. Bruce and William O'Sullivan, who were associated with their father on the farm at Huntly, and tVj daughters are Mrs. Harry Lawson (Featherston) and Miss Jessie O'Sullivan. Mr. William O "Sullivan, ono of the sons, is tho well-known Wellington representative Eugby player. One son, Lieutenant Desmon O'Sullivan, was killed in the Great War. When he resided in Wellington tho late Major O'Sullivan was a member of the Hibernian Society and tho Wellington Bowling Club. Tho funeral will bo in Wellington.
