SIZE OF CRICKET BALLS
CAPTAINS MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS. (REUTIR'I TEIEOIUM.) (Received 23rd December, 2:30 p.m.) ( LONDON, 22nd December. As regards the hitherto frequent use of under-sized cricket balls, the Marylebone Club has instructed umpires in future to see that the weights and dimensions are correct. The makers have agreed to stamp a guarantee on them. A meeting of captains in first-class cricket decided to draw the attention of umpires to the fact that in their opinion games, after rain, should not be resumed too soon where possible; secondly, that the practice by bowlers of seam-lifting should be treated as illegal. ' '
