PERSONAL MATTERS
Mr. J. C. Kolleston, M.P. for Waitomo, is visiting Wellington. The Hon. A. D. M'Leod will go North in a few days' time on'business connected with the kauri gum industry. Mr. Peter B. Kyne, the American novelist, will visit New Zealand for this reason's swordfishing, and to see relatives in Hawkes . Bay and the Manawatu. The Prime Minister (the Hon. J. G. Coates) is in Diinedin to-day attending the opening of the Exhibition. He is expected to return to Wellington on Friday, and subsequently he will go . North .to Dargaville. Mr. L. F. Aysonj Chief Inspector of New Zealand Government Fisheries, who has been in indifferent health for some time, has been recommended a complete rest, and will probably spend the leave granted him at Pembroke. The Rev. E. H. Catherwood, at present minister of tho KilbirnieLyall Bay Presbyterian Church, has accepted a call to Turakina, and is to be induptcd to the charge on 16th December. ,
Mr. B. B. T. Young, it is announced, has been selected as the second nominee of Victoria College for the Khode's Scholarship. Mr. Young is a graduate in science, and in addition to a. fine scholastic career, >he has a good sports record. He has been twice New Zealand University boxing champion in tho feather class. He. is a keen hockey player, ami has represented his University and tho Wellington province at tennis. Mr. J. O. J. Malfroy is tlio first nominee of Victoria College. .
