PALMERSTON N., This Day.

At the Magistrate's Court, John Lee v a flaxcutter at Miranui, was proceeded against by the- Inspector of Awards, who claimed £J0 as a penalty for "on or about 19th August instigating or abetting an . uulawful strike of flaxcutters. at 'Mirauui.V The inspector stated that a dispute occurred, at Miranui over .fixing the price for cutting a "new block' ■ of llax, and,as,the result two gangs ceased work. After hearing the evidence the Magistrate gave his decision in favour'of the defendant, saying that no evidence had been adduced that he had abetted a strike.,
