LAUNCH CLUB'S OPENING
Another opening on Saturday afternoon was that of the Pqrt Nicholson Motor-boat Club, which also took place in the Boat Harbour. The president, Mr. F. Kiernan, in declaring the season open, remarked that the large attendance was striking evidence of the popularity of acquatic sports, among participants and supporters alike. In aquatics, they had one of the finest and cleanest sports in existence to-day, and he urged parents whose boys had the spirit of the sea in them to get them to take up the pastime. The club s outlook for the coming season was excellent.
. The launch procession was postponed owing to the lumpy sea, but an enjoyable afternoon was spent with the assistance of Dalton's Orchestra. . Afternoon ' tea was served by Mesdames Kiernan arid Edwards and Miss Hannigan, whose efforts were much appreciated. . ...•'',
