ORPHANS SOCIETY.
The newly-formed Orphans Musical Society announces its first concert to take place in the Concert Chamber on Tuesday, 'Bth Decembor. Edward German's Light Opera "Tom Jones" has been chosen for this performance. Tliis opera is full of delightful music, and, with a good cast'of soloists and an excellent chorus of sixty-five voices, a first-class rendering , may be expected. The society will give three concerts each year, and the music chosen for these concerts will be works not usually heard in Wellington. v With an enthusiastic group of singers under the: baton of Mr-pen Barnes, patrons may rely on hearing some good performances. Intending subscribers may obtain particulars from to-day's advertising columns.'
