HAMILTON, This Day. There were 23 entries for the North Island, clay bird championship at Euakura yesterday. The weather was squally and the light varied as the match proceeded. The competition, (21 birds) produced some excellent shooting, four men each attaining the possible, C. Seddon (Hamilton), L. B. Hughes (Auckland), H. Clinch (Waimarino), and W. Semmens (Whakatane), while F. Curtis, who yesterday won-the £100 handicap, came next with 20. Three others, V. J. Smith (Auckland), F. Campbell (Hamilton)-, and. A; Dobson (Auckland) each dropped 19 birds. In the shoot-off Clinch, who had been dead on the whole way through the competition, was declared the first North Island champion. Clinch won the Dominion championship at Hamilton three years ago, and is an ex-Dominion sparrow champion. : .
