TRAGIC ACCIDENT
YACHTSMAN SERIOUSLY
INJURED.
' 'A tragic accidont occurred at the Boat Harbour early last evening, as a result of which, Mr. John Breen, a married man, who resides at 98, Clyde quay, is at present in hospital in a serious condition. Mr. Brecn was painting his yacht on the "hard, when one,of the props impporting. the craft slipped from its place, and the yacht fell on Mr. Breen, injuring his spine. ■Mr. Breen is one of Wellington's most enthusiastic and capable yachtsmen, and has been sailing a boat hero for the past fifteen years, prior to which •he was astively engaged in the sport in Auckland. His yacht, tho Miru, is a second-class vessel of 21 feet overall, and Mr. Breon was putting the final touches to his craft befoze.launching her for the opening of the yachting season, which takes place this afternoon. So was admitted to the Hospital about .7.15 o'clock last evening with a fractured spine. His condition is serious.
