NORTH ISLAND UNION MEETS.
The monthly meeting of the North Island Motor Union was held last night, Mr. A. J. Toogood, presiding. On the motion of Mr. I. V. Wilson, it was decided that, in view of the increasing membership of associations, the union finds it, impossible to make the present levy on associations cover the cost of free distribution of hotel tickets, and it has therefore decided that this year a separate charge must be made for tickets.- ;
The Main Highways Board wrote that it considered it desirable to have the number of the, main highway placed in a circle on sign-poats t . If this were done, and the work approved by the board, sign-posting would in future be considered construction work where new postß Were concerned,.and maintenance work where the work consisted of repairs, .and the board would subsidise tho work accordingly.
