<'It is with, a feeling! of deep gratitude that I address a' few word* to you this evening, The figures for the election .now appear to be fifty-five . seats for, the ' Government, nine for the Nationalists, ten for Labour, and one for Liberals, yith-re-turns for certain districts yet to come to hand. Without their energy,, organisation, arid help it would <net have been possible to have established a sound and stable Government. For the future I suggest that the bcßt ciourse to follow is to bury the political hatchet, put our shoulders to the wheel,, and niove forward.' - "Without the hearty co-oporation of all -sections oi the cpininuiiitv ,it is; not possible to achieve success; There are those, who have said that if ' the' Government was returned to pWor it would be opposed to: Labour, but such a statement is; incorrect, since the Government stands for all. the, people, and ■will endeavour to give. ;effectj, to/ tMe> slogan of equal, opportunity 'for tho humblest citizen'in the land. ...we have a wonderful country au<i are-a; great people: ' Our country ■'.: stands, out above and beyond all other parts of the Empire iv its prosperity and loyalty to the constitution or the Empire.
