DOMINANT VOICES
(juite remarkable reception of 3LO (Melbourne) was experienced last Saturday night, and by a curious circumstance "Grid-Bias" was unable to get any satisfaction from.any other .Australian station. The Melbourne station , was tiansmitting -an "old-fashioned" dance programme of waltzes, polkas, square dances, and so on, with a liberal mixture .of vocal items and plenty of patter by the master of ceremonies. On Monday night, 2BL put up the most,,,notable performance in the ■witOT's*experience, coming in with a volume almost equal to that of IYA.' Considering the usually .-feeble results the writer gets'from this Sydney statiqii, the volume, which was'remarkably constant, ivas astonishing. Yet: curiously enough neither SLOnor any other Australian station than 2BL could be heard above a whisper.
