VIEWS OF PRESIDENT OF MODERATE LEAGUE
■ Mr. D. M. Findlay, president of the Moderate League and vice-president ...of tho Licensing '.Reform Association, said that it was a matter of great •gratification to the moderato section of tho community that, in spite of yei't- adverse conditions affecting the Sfca'to Control issuo as it how stood ou the ballot paper, that so largo an increase baa taken place in lfcrsup- . porting vote. That, was the outatandLT feature of the poll. Tho ttaw Zealand Moderate League, as a corn-
ponent part of the Licensing Reform Association, had made its appeal for the third issue as a means of expressing the demand for reform, and they were gratified at the response of the electors, as shown by the results. The generous support accorded gave renewed encouragement to continue the efforts of the Licensing Reform Association to induce Parliament to move in the direction, of sane reform, and should act as a stimulus to Parliament to deal promptly and fearlessly with the problem. There could be no doubt that. this was the wish of the great moderate section of the community. ■■■■
