The Fire Brigade received a call at 11.35 a.m. yesterday to a seven-roomed two-storied wooden building situated at No. 21, Hawkestone crescent. ' Although the flames had a strong. hold when the brigade arrived, the fire was kept within control, and was suppressed, but not before the building had been severely damaged. The building was occupied by Mr. J. \V. Koran, and was insured in the Guardian Office for £450.
