LODGE MEETINGS
Bro. A. Hunter, N.G., presided over the fortnightly meeting of Loyal Antipodean Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.U., hold on Tuesday evening. Four new members were initiated, and three proposals for membership were received. Bros. J J. Mead, P.D.G.M. (Hastings) and J. Cf Kirkwood, P.G., late member of Antipodean, but now of the Dannevirke Lodge, were extended a warm welcome with lodge honours," to • which they replied, Bro. Kirkwood giving some very interesting details of the work of the Dannevirke Lodge. Bro. Miles, a visitor from England, who is leaving shortly on his return journey, thanked members for many kindnesses he had received. On his return to his parent lodge he would tell of the handsome way he had been treated... A. degree meeting was held by Bro. G. D. Beharell, Lecture Master, two brothers' taking the white, five the blue, three 'the' scarlet, and four were duly invested with the gold degree. Bro. A. C. Blair, D.G.M., Bro. J.S. Wiley, P.D.G.M., and Bro. F. Taylor, P.G.. judges of the_ Past Grands' Lodge, attended and judged the ritual competition for the Steffensen Shield. The result will be known by the beginning of December: all town and suburban lodges are competing. The following nominations were received for officers for the ensuing term: —Bros. A. Hunter, 1.P.N.G., A. V. Cooke, N.G., and A. Wainwright, V.G. Bros. B. H. Boys, H. C. Hicks, W. B. Moseley, and C. Fla-ws were nominated for the office of E.S.; W. R. Suisted, W. Moseley, E. M. Murphy, T. Lymieberg, and C. King for Warden; and W. Moseley, .E Flaws, and C. King for Guardian. In addition, Bro. C. Flaws was nominated for conductor. Bro. F. Gledhill, P.D.G.M., was nominated for Deputy Grand Master, iiuJ also as a director. Bros. W. Madeley, I. Clark, P.D.G.M.'s, and Bro. A. C. Blair, D.G.M., were nominated as. Trustees. . During the. evening members extended' their sympathy to Bro. -A. .Guise,-F..5., and'family in the bereavement' they' had suffered, in the death- of wife and mother.
