[Published by Abbakgejibkt.] tt. H. FITT, ' Motor Hood and Screen Maker, and Upholsterer, Kangitikei Street, Palmerston North. Mr. Gr. H. Fitt, the well-known carriage trimmer, of Eaugitikei street, who succeeded Mr. A. Gray in this business about two years ago, has found it necessary to secure a new and more up-to-date and larger shop, which he is now occuping next door to Mr. M'Grath, the carriage and motor body painter. These new premises are located just off Eangitikei street, and are reached by a right-of-way in the vicinity of his old shop. As a carriage and motor body trimmer, hood, and screenmaker there are few better men in this country. He has had a lengthy and practical experience of all pertaining to car upholstery, and the making of cush- . ions and loose covers of all kinds. When in need of such go to G. H. .fitt, opposite The Hayward Vulcanising Works, in Kangitikei street. R. V. MASON BUYS TIRATU i WOOD AND COAL YARD, Palmerston North. The Tiratu Wood and Coal Yard in Main street, Palmerston North, has now been taken over by Mr. It. V. Mason, who for a long time conducted a successful business of a similar nature at the corner of Albert and Main streets, at Terrace Bud. The Tiratu Yards' are the oldest established in Palmerston North, and being so handy to the railway with a siding right into the sheds, and a plant second to none, Mr. Mason's trade will certainly increase by leaps and bounds. It is perhaps interesting to note the fact that this gentleman is one of the returned soldiers who, by his pluck and determination to succeed, has; and all those who know him say, good luck, old boy, you deserve it. . Mr. Mason is one of the busiest men in Palmerston, besides conducting this" big wood and coal business, he also runs a land agency, and when time will permit a miniature farm at Awapuni. He is never too busy, however,- to pay particular attention to your household require- . ments, and will always promptly send along supplies of the best firing obtainable in the town if you just ring 6154. No better indication of the rapid progress Palmerston North is making than is revealed by an-inspection of Mr. Con M'Grath 's new premises just completed to his order in Bangitikei street, and next door to G. H. Fitt, the well-known trimmer. ' Mr. M'Grath has a great reputation for the excellence of his painting work, and it naturally follows that he has a' very big clientele. In order to more promptly carry out the work entrusted to him he has among other improvements in his new establishment installed one of the very latest Aloka paint-stripping devices. This machine, or whatever it may be termed, is a "real artist." It can obliterate every scrap of paint from a motor-car right down to the wood or tin framework, and it can just as readily take off one coat and leave the rest desired. It is a time-saver sure enough", and enables the car to change its coat and colour in double quick time. Mr. M'Grath is to be congratulated on his enterprise, both in regard to his new shop, and plant, and those desiring to have their car repainted and varnished need little instruction as to where to go. Mr. M'Grath is well known in the town, and as a tradesman ho is one of the best. 3. H. SNELL, Terrace End Butchery, I Telephone 5173. •! It is a strange thing that with all the improvements that have been made in flaxmilling the principle of the stripper to-dity is the' same as was introduced in 186 J. However, these principles as applied to make a modern stripper are a matter which calls for careful scientific design and the very best of engineering workmanship. The latest, grent advance in design is in tho appli.cation of bfill bearings ..and niclcel dircnne steel spiridlcs properly heat troated and accurately ground to gauges. These bflll bunting machines are the products nf Messrs. Taylor and Vointon, Jiangitikoi sliwl, l'nlmerslon Norlli, wlin ;ire specialists in flax-dress-ing machinery find rquipnu'tit of nil kinds.
