The Controller of Civil Aviation.iii Victoria (Colonel Brinsmead) said recently, (states ' the Melbourne correspondent of the Sydney "Sun?'), that. Captain ; Kingsf ord ■: Smith, . when on his way to Sydney to' obtain a,'fly-ing-boat, had calWd on him, and. they; had informally discussed the proposed /light frotn Australia, to. New Zealand. Captain Kingsf ord Smith, was, confi--dent- that he, would .be successful. Colonel Brinsmead .said he had not heard from Captain \Kingsford Smith since he. went to. Sydney. Although the proposal was not yet officially l.efore the Department, he was looking' forward to a definite announcement c£ Captdin Kingsfprd Smith's plans.
