CHBISTCHUHCH, 3rd Nov. Entries were very heavy at Addingtoto to-day on account of the market being a double one, due to the interruption caused by Carnival Week. The sale did not conclude until 8 p.m. The market was firm throughout. Store Sheep.—A small entry and a fairly free sale, though prices were not so good as last weeit, due to the interior class of stulf forward. Ewes and iambs, all counted, made to 245. Spring Lambs.—4l9 were penned. A good, saie' for well-grown lambs, but a decided drop for small sorts. The bulk of the offering averaged from 30s to 40s. Fat Sheep.—A very heavy entry of 14 races, about 75 per cent, more than usual. Good lines of ' shorn sheep. were forward from the south. The market waseasjer in the opening stages by up to 2s 6d per head, but this was fully recovered over the final stages. Extra prime wethers made to 57s 3d, prime 48s to 545, medium 44s to 47s 6d, light 38s to 435. Extra prime ewes, to 44i Id, "prime 40s to 4bs, medium 37s to 39s bd, light 34s 6d to 36« 6d. Prime shorn wethers 40s to 48s 4d, medium 35s to 395, light 29s 7d to 345, prime thorn ewes 36s to 40s 7d, medium 30a to 34». " .
Fat Cattle.—A heavy entry of 660 head, including, a line of 117 from the North Island, which averaged £19 2s, and a good draft from the West Coast. The sale opened easier than last week, but finished firmer. Best beef made to 61s per 1001b, prime 55s to 53s 7d. Heavweight 51s to 545, medium 46«~6d to 49s 6d, light 40s to 455. Extra prime heavyweight steers made £26 to £29.12* 6d, prime heavy £22 to £25 10s ; me-, dium-weight £18 to £21 ss, light £15 to £17 15s, rough £12 to £14 10s. Extra prime heifers £18 to £20 7s 6d, prime £14 5s to £17 10s, ordinary £10 10b to £13 15s, 'light £8 tb £10 ss, extra prime cows to £21 2s 6d, prime £13 10s to £17 ss, medium £10 5» to £13, light £6 to £2. Vealers.—A small supply and a firm sale. Runners made £8 10s to £11 10s, good vealers £6 5s to £7 o.js, medium vealers £4 10s to £5 15s, inferior vealers £2 to £4 ss, calves 20s 1 to 50s. \
Store-Cattle.—A mixed entry of fair size and an {animated sale. Four-year-old steers made £12, three-year-old steers £9, two to two and a half yearold heifers to £6, good cows to £6, medium £3 to £4 10s; bulls to £7. Dairy Cattle.—A very small entry and a slack sale, with frequent passings; Best second, third, and fourth calvers, springing, £8 to £12, medium sorts £4 10s to £7 10s, poor sorts £2 10s to £4, springing heifers £5 to £8 ss, old cows in milk £1 7s 6i to £2 10s. . :;.;;-
