Members of the French Cabinet are scattered to all parts of France, taking such brief holidays .as their functions permit. M. Painleve, who has gone, to Brittany, practises no form of sport, and according to his own statement his favourite form of relaxation is to think. M. Cailliuix hopes to do a little shooting, M. Briand, who is a great angler, likes nothing better than to retire to his farm and live the simple life. M. Jean Durand, the Minister of Agriculture, is taking a course of the waters at Vicny, though he always has to interrupt_his "cure" and cannot take a steady three weeks. M. Durafqur, the Minister of Labour, has not much chance of a holi-. day until the bank strike in settled. His favourite fonn'of .distraction is cycling.
