MOUNT COOK SCHOOLS' JUBILEE

A mooting oE the Mount Cook Jubilee Celebration Committee was held in the Old Scholars' Clubroom, Ghuzuee street, lust evening. Mr. W. E. Howe was in tho chair. Messr. Burley and London were appointed a deputation to wait on the City Council regarding tho use of the Town Hall for tho jubileo function and to finalise matters in connection \vith the Basin Reserve for the sports meeting. The oll'er of the Central Mission Band to play during the Sunday service was accepted with thanks. It, was decided to request headmasters to 'advise students that they will be expected to march in tho procession on Sunday', 13tli December. The report of the Sports Committee was adopted, and expenditure not exceeding £22 was. authorised for the purchase of trophies. Tho committee resolved to hold the •infant sport 3in the morning, the remainder of tho sports to commence at 1 p.m. In the event of wet weather tho sports are to be postponed from tlia Friday until the Monday. An endeavour L is to bo made to secure the services of a band to play on tho grandstand while tho sports are in progress. Donations of trophies wore received from Messrs. Hedges, Kilto, and Moft'att.
