GISBORNE, This Day. The Poverty Bay Turf Club's Meeting to-day opened in glorious weather. I here is a large attendance and the going is good. Results:—
Junction Handicap, of 150 soys: sis furlongs and a half.—Princess Ronnie, 7.11, 1; Heathersprig, 9.7, 2; Manutai, 7.6, 3. The only starters. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 22 4-ssec. l'irst Hurdles Handicap, of ISO soys; one mile and three-quarters.—Monte 10.4 1; Sum-ay, 10.9, 2; Radio, 9.0, Z. Scratched: Highway and Garzon. Won by half a length, half a length between second and third. Time, omin 25sec. Roseland Hack Handicap, of 150 soys • six furlongs.—Nightsong, 8.8, 1; Blue •Jay, 8.3, 2; Princess Nata, 7.7, 3. (scratched : Sunlike, King! Pita, Carniola, Kings Up, Sophia, and Cymbelina. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 16
