CUTTING DOWN SUBMARINES
ABOLITIONS AND REDUCTIONS.

In pursuance of the policy of retrench-ment-the Admiralty announces that all K-class submarines will be scrapped except K26, which with four L-clnss submarines will form the reconstituted First Submarine Flotilla. The special reserve of engineer officers will be abolished, and tho special , reserve of-' Royal marine officers reduced. Tho Second Cruiser Squadron- will be.reduced, and the Calliope is bo placed on the reserve. One of tho destroyer flotillas attached to the Atlantic Fleet will be reduced to the. reserve. Reductions will also be effected in the number of tenders attached to the harbour training establishments at Home .ports..
