MEETING OF BOROUGH COUNCIL

The fortnightly meeting of the Lower Hutt Borough Council was held last oveniii-;. TJio Public" AA'orks 3* Department requested a further amended resolution vc the exemption of certain streels in Alicetown, and suggested Unit, as opportunity occurs, the- corners of tho streets should bo set back. The amended resolution was passed, and tho Public AVorks Department is to be notified that tho corner will be altered as occasion arises. Tho Lower Hutt Civic Association wrote asking that a deputation be heard re the dismissal of the borough foreman. The Town Clerk reported that, by instructions of tho Mayor, he had replied declining to hear the deputation. The action of the Town Clerk was confirmed by the council. ■
