An impressive ceremony Imk place at the Government Insurance Building yesterday morning, when' a war memorial tablet to cnnimemoralo the names of the four members of the Department's staff who died in the Great War was unveiled. On behalf of Die contributing officers, Mr. 0. 15. Ferguson explained the spirit prompting the erection of the tablet. The Government Insurance Commissioner, Mr. A. T. Traversi, then requested Mr. G. W. Barltrop, who was for many years on the staff of the Department, and who retired as Deputy-Commissioner, to unveil the tablet. In doing so, Mr. Barltrop commented on the fine war record of the Department, and said, that it was gratifying that so many of those who had seen service had returned safely. ITe hoped that the example of. self-sacrifice set by the four whom they were honouring would be followed'as a, wortiiv ideal.
