Eleven piers aro planned for the dam that the Kawarau Gold Mining Company is building across tho mouth of Lako Wakatipu at Prankton Falls. Seven of these piers are now completed, and four of the great gates are in position. Visitors arc much impressed with the appearance of, the work. The. first diversion of tho water has been delayed owing to tho rising of.the lake, but it is .confidently anticipated- that the delaj; will be of only short.duration. _^
