Mr. Philip Suowden, speaking at Paisley, said the next Labour Government would demand the key positions of capitalism, such as the ownership of land, railways, and electric power. Its financial policy would bo to raise revenue by the taxation of unearned wealth, ami to remove the taxation from the necessaries of life. It seemed most likely that the piosent Government, if it remained in oflicu for three years longer, would impose a. full-blown ■system of protection. 'I he Labour Party stood solid against protection, but did not favour imports, tho protection of which was degrading to foreign workers.
