SOMEWHAT BELATED
NO .VESSELS DELAYED AT
AUCKLAND,
AUCKLAND, This Day
If tho announcement' that the strike is declared off is correct the decision is somewhat belated, because all 13 ships that were delayed at Auckland have left port, three for overseas, and ten for southern ports. The last to get away was tho Zinal, which sailed for Nauru Island on Saturday afternoon.
Tho only British steamer in port now .is tho Trefusis. So far she has not been affected by the strike, and is to sail for southern ports and Australia on Wednesday.
Four other British steamers are due at Auckland shortly, the Suffolk from Liverpool on Wednesday, the Corinthic Jroni London via Wellington, the Trcwyn from New York, and the Crosshill from Iquique toward the end of the week.
