The attendance was thirty-five thousand. The Irish forwards took part in many dashing rushes, but the English were -lh« sounder in defence. Jn the second half play was more energetic. The Irish half-backs displayed fino spoiling work. 'Hie English forwards lacked combination, but towards the end improved. The draw was a fair reflex of the game. Last year Ireland defeated England 2 goals to 1. These matches were first played in 1882, and England has now won 31 matches, Ireland 3, and 5 hava been drawn.
