The ■ fleet was in a condition to repeat'the voyage" at twenty-four .hours 1' notice.' Ihe total cost was 515,000 dollars. The .benefits were naval,-national, and-inter-national. ,The Australians and New' Zeal.auders had shown great hospitality. Admiral Coontz urgedthe,. construction of aircraft carriers, and stated that the fleet needed an additional oiler.
