BOY,

(EI JElEOr.Arn.— TOESS ASSOCrATION.) • NEW PLYMOUTH, 25th Oct. A New Plymouth boy, S. M'Cann, riding on tho thirty minutes' mark, won Saturday's "Round Mount Egmont" cycle race by a comfortable margin. Fifty-six riders faced the starter at New Plymouth. The limit men were given forty minutes' start, leaving'■■'■at 10 o'clock. Tho i-oads, which for tlio greater part of the one hundred miles' course are tar-sealed, were in good order. The weather was also favourable, although during the first forty miles along the coast road to Opunake, a head-wind was faced. Great interest was displayed by the public, who lined the roads and streets in all the villages and"'towns en route. The scratch men gaiued very little on the leaders to Opunake. Passing Knponga, Brewster (New Plymouth) was in the lead, a position he held all tho way to Inglewood, which is only eleven miles from home. Two miiuites behind him camo M'Cann, Yardley, Mortlakc, and Belk. who, in tho last stretch, overhauled the loader, finishing in the order named, with Brewster fifth.
